Rafael Montealegre's early curiosity and interest in social and natural environments has led him to travel extensively throughout the world. Rafael started to use photography to document his travels abroad and in the U.S. He then began studying photography seriously in New York City at Queensborough Community College, he then studied filmmaking at the The New School Public Engagement, School of Media Studies and while at The New School he received his B.F.A. in photography at Parsons School of Design in New York City.
